Weekend Feast - Seafood Feast

Hi it's me again! Sorry for the lack of posts, was having exams... but it's finally over! Yeah!!!

Well, even though there were exams , the weekend feast must still go on. Must still feed my ever growing tummy mah. :) This week, Chef dar dar prepared a seafood feast.

Before I go into that though, let me show you this bag which I got for dar dar's mum aka my FUTURE mother-in-law for the upcoming mother's day. Don't you think the bag resembles something? Yes! A Har Gao!!! Ha.

Found the bag rather cute and interesting so decided to buy it. Glad that Future Mother-in-law liked it.

Now, let's get on to the real food. For the ingredients we have caixin, prawns, sotong, fish, sambal chilli, banana leaves, big yellow onions and small lime. For the rice, dar dar decided to try this Hainanese chicken rice paste.

The prawns and sotong were marinated with seasoning and sambal chilli overnight. They were then pan-fried over banana leaves to add to the fragrance.

Oh, and dar dar decided to try to roll the rice into the traditional Hainanese chicken rice ball which she saw on TV last week. And I must say that it was perfectly done!

Rating:

Review: Quite a spicy meal that really stimulated the tastebuds. The prawns and sotong were just nicely cooked and was juicy to the bite. The simple vegetables soup also complemented the spicy dishes nicely.

Verdict: Not bad! Can Eat lah! Almost can sell liao!
